"lake of the woods island lodge"
| |
Has anybody stayed here before? We are thinking of spending a week on this island lodge in late May next year. Just wondering if anybody could comment on this place. Also how bad are the mosquitos that time of year? Would it be better to go later like mid june? Thanks for any info Matt |

I've never stayed at any of the island lodges at LOW so I cannot tell you anything about your choice of lodging. A friend has been staying at Tamarack Lodge in Miles Bay for many years and has always been happy there. As far as being bothered by mosquitos, I have fished LOW in May for several years now and don't recall ever being bothered by mosquitos to any great degree. Rain, yes. Cold weather, yes. Hot weather, yes. High winds, yes. But any of those could come in to play any time you are at LOW on open water. If you are also curious about the fishing during May, it is good. Just different patterns than during other months. You will find the eyes on weedlines, rock points etc. Typical Spring patterns for walleyes. |
