"walleyes in Morson"

   Hey Everyone,

I can't confirm with my own eyes, but from checking in with people in the Morson area, it sounds like the walleyes are jumping in the boat this week. Had a group catch 50-60 in one day, despite the heat, algae and everything else. I don't think the algae is as bad for fishing as everyone like to think. It's just an excuse to stay in the air conditioned cabin or house and not go out in the heat in the boat!! HAHAHA

We spent five days up there and the heat was unberable. It hit 96 in the shade on Monday. We still caught fish (walleyes on crawlers in 14 feet) but it wasn't much fun being out in that heat. Went tubing instead! The algae is the worst I've ever seen it. It started earlier and is twice as thick as last year. Not sure why. Does anyone have an explanation? It may not hurt fishing, but it's usually a sign of poor water quality, and that could eventually catch up to the lake. It's clogging up our water filters and that's a first! The lake level continues to drop, down 50 inches from last year and 30 inches from normal. We'll head back up for four days at Labor Day and try the fishing one more time before getting the decoys out.
