"Water temps in Morson area??"
| |
Anyone have an idea what the water temps have dropped to? Justin, if you're checking this I bet you would know. I'm hoping the weather cools back down to keep those temps moving slowly south. We will be up there Thursday morning (a week from today). Any recent reports on fishing patterns would be greatly appreciated! I look forward to seeing you next week, Justin... Rich Lehman |

Thanks mjones. That makes me feel a little better. The warm weather we have been having started to worry me. As long as those water temps are below 50 the Muskies should start to move a bit. Has anyone had any luck on Crappies South side of Hay Island? Sounds like most have been in Miles or OB Elbow. |

Crappies have been hitting at Hay Island since the middle of last week, although one of our groups said it was slow there today. The warm weather has brought up the water temp to almost 60 in some areas where it is a little more shallow, but averaging about 55 right now. One of our people has been fishing muskies everyday for a week or so and has been doing some casting during the day since the weather has warmed up. Went out with him Tuesday night and casted for a couple hours and then trolled for an hour until dark. Hooked a 31" northern while trolling, but that was all we had to show for the evening. Action has been a little slow for this time of year, but the water temp should go down pretty quick if a cold front moves in. Justin |

Temps have been holding around 52 the last couple days. I even caught a 35 incher trolling with someone from here today. It was nice of him to let me reel it in. HAHAHA Lows look like they will be around freezing, with highs in the upper 40's. Should bring the water temp down some more. |

Congrats Justin! No, not for just catching fish, but also for getting out fishing. I know its not easy for you to get out much during the peak season. Catching a musky of any size is a definite bonus. I see we're in for a warmer weekend now as well. I hope the temps drop enough over the next few days to get things moving before it warms back up. Who would have thought that last year we barely beat the ice off the lake, now this year we're not even below 50 degree water temp. I look forward to seeing you tomorrow morning! |
