Just wondered if anyone has tried baiting a specific area for a few days with loads of cooked corn or maize and then fishing the area to see what's been attracted to the free offerings. We are staying on the edge of Lake of the Woods in a cabin and I was thinking of trying this method and seeing what I get. Any ideas ??? Thanks Ian

Thanks for reply Jason. I suppose that approach was partly aimed at the carp (now found they are certainly not in abundance) but was hoping there'd be something else out there to take a fancy to it. Thanks Ian

Actually, I think you'd regret doing it. You might wind up with some sort of critter at the end of your hook. When we were there, there were these things that could have been muskrats - actually, I don't know exactly what they were. Anyhow, they'd eat anything in the water they could get their paws on. Sound pretty nasty to me Bhomis. I know that in France a few guys fishing for carp were distrbed in the night by what was a cross between a giant rat and some strange marsupial with big long fangs. Pretty creepy. I did think about spilling corn on the ground and perhaps encouraging wildlife to come into camp. I'm really going off this idea now! Cheers Ian
