BIG BUCKS? I haven't gone deer hunting in my life. Those are the only big bucks I know about. HAHAHAHA I know this struggling student guy that begged and pleaded and cried until he got some air miles from his Dad so he could go to Mesa, AZ on his mid term break from school to see his Uncle and hit a few balls into the dessert sands and cacti. He'll probably get a sunburn for his trouble, but oh well. I guess a person has to take some risks once in awhile. Justin |

Justin - Nice to see a discussion area for LOTW. Hope Vegas was fun, although it doesn't sound like you hit the jackpot. That's good news for us though if it means you'll be back. As far as fish, you know my favorite...can't beat the muskie for all out challenge and excitement! Have a good winter, hope that ice is off by the time I show up in mid-May. Rich |

You have to fish with barbless hooks on the Red River here in Manitoba and that doesn't stop people from reeling in those 25-30 pound channel cats. It might be an idea worth thinking about for LOW. Justin |

You can call me strange if you want, but for catching I prefer northern pike. For eating I also prefer Northern Pike. Once those "Y" bones are removed you have one he-- of a great dinner. Walleye too is nice but the only reason it is more popular is because it is easy to fillet. Crappie are also a great eating fish. Small but get a 1/2 doz and you have a great dinner. Trout, nice but like eating salmon.a tad rich more me. Bass I have ate them, but now stick with pike. Muskie never.. I catch and release except what I want for lunch and that is it. Barbless too which I believe LOTW should be all over the lake. Any comments on that one.?? Have a good day. It is not long and we can all go fishing. |

Dito on the fish Ron. The barbless idea is a one to think about. Lake of the Woods is an excellent fishery, so why not up the antee and try barbless? That's the way we did it while fishing on the West coast. The fish still bite! |
