Hello Everyone. I thought I'd give a quick update on the muskie fishing in the Morson area. Muskies, Inc had the Gil Hamm Chapter Challunge Aug 4, 5, and 6 and the fishing was excellent. We had a few groups of guests out fishing for the whole week and about 16-18 guys boated well over 50 fish.
There were 7 fish over 59 inches with the biggest being 54.5 inches.
There have been 8 guys (and one girl!) with personal best fish this past week ranging from 45" to 54.5". Just about all hitting on black bucktails and a couple hit during figure 8's.
Many of the biggest fish caught within a couple miles of camp.
Don't let anyone every tell you that there aren't 50 inch fish in Sabaskong. I think we should make a t-shirt with the slogan: "Sbaskong Bay: Big Fish Live Here!" and give it to anyone who catches a 50 incher. Have to look into that!!
Those of you that know the URL to our website can check out pictures on the August 2004 picture page. I've got 5 of the 50 inch fish on there so far (as well as many of the other muskies caught last week) and hoping the other 2 will get sent to me after developing.
