"Walleyes are still biting around Morson"

Got back from Morson on Monday. We fished several spots each day from just West of Eleanor lake to Firebag to Miles Bay etc. We fished ourselves out of minnows each of three days that we fished. Six doz. on day one 8 doz. on days two and three. Three guys in the boat. The eyes were smaller than we were getting in mid July but we got great numbers. Out of the thirty or so spots that we fished in three days we only tried two spots that did not produce at least one fish. Just gotta love that LOW. |

Wow, you covered some territory, didn't you? Did you travel so much just for different scenery or did the walleyes slow down shortly after you arrived on a spot. Just curious since you said it was still a good bite. I guess that's one advantage of the cool weather is that late August still has great walleye fishing. Rich |

Evertime I fish LOW I try some new spots that I have not tried before and/or revisit a spot that I have spent limited time working on a past trip. I have only fished the Morson area for about eight years now and have a lot to learn. I also love the scenery in the area. So, the answer to your question is, no the bite was not typically slowing down. I also had two friends along who had never been to Morson and wanted them to see a lot of the area. I've got an 18' boat with
150 HP it only makes sense to me to use it. |
