Fishing opener went very well for most of our guests despite an nearly all day rain; heavy at times. Wind changed from SE on Saturday to NW on Sunday and slowed down the bite for most people. The more experienced anglers found nice great fish Sunday as well though. Not much action east. Mostly close by the resort and north a bit. Supposed to get some dry weather Mondy and then more rain. Hopefully it will clear up for the biggest weekend of the year. I hope BAzil posts a report. The ole muskie hunter had some good walleye action on the weekend. Justin |

I'll be splitting my time between trolling for Lakers on Crow and jigging Eyes on LOW this week. We may stop in and say hello to our favorite resort operators. May hook up with the Bell party for a shore lunch, assuming Dave's lower unit stays intact. I'll post a report when I get home. |

John: My folks have Mylie's Place Resort in Morson. My grandfather is Mylie (the man himself) and originally bought the place in 1959. My folks have been running it since 1992 after it was out of the family for 9 years. Stop by if you're in the neighbourhood. We've been trying to spruce it up a little more every year. Depths on Saturday (accorind to those that did well) were 10-15 feet. Monday was down to 25 feet as well. Everything on the bottom. Minnows were hotter for most people, but a coupel guys said the leeches were the ticket. Eastie: The warrior has been zooming in and out of the bay quite a bit already this week since the kids are up for the first few days. They were fishing in shifts I think! I'm not sure D.B. will have any money left for gas by mid week so you may have to have shorelunch within paddling distance!! Definitely stop by and say hello. I know most of your fave spots are west of our bay anyway!! You can check out the sweet dock bumpers I screwed on for you. I was gonna spend the money I collected n Vegas, but dangit if I didn't feel guilty before I even did it! HAHAHA Seriously though, they have been a big hit already. Later. |

Justin, My father-in-law, Louie Rossman, has a cabin just a little ways from Mylies near the entrance of Hansen Bay. My parents have a cabin on Taylor Bay and my grandfather used to have a trailer at Mylie's in early 70's before building at Taylor Bay. Thanks for the info - looking forward to getting back up there on Friday. |

Hey John, That's pretty cool stuff. Louis is one of the "coffee crew" that comes over every morning to sling BS and down a few cups of joe. My Aunt and Uncle have the little green cabin at the bottom of the hill before you head up towards Louis' cabin. Looks like a chance of showers all weekend, but perhaps they'll miss us. The fish have been biting this week so far too. |

Louie and his wife went out for a couple of hours Wednesday and caught their four - which probably turned into 40 by coffee time . . . I forgot about hime having coffee there and he always points out Grandpa Mylie's boat. Forecast doesn't look too bad as it's supposed to get a little nicer and more stable weather by Sunday and Monday. Good fishin. - John |

Had the pleasure of being up there last Friday - Monday (Memorial Weekend). Went both east, west and north out of Hansen Bay. Caught smaller males Friday afternoon and Saturday morning in 15-25 FOW using jigs and minnows. Then the wind switched to the south Saturday afternoon and the females came in. Biggest was 25" with many in the 20-23" and 16 - 18" range. Around 15-20 FOW using white or chartruse jigs and minnows were the ticket - best spot was 10 minutes north of Hansen Bay. |
