      Minnesota is known as the “Land of 10,000 Lakes”. For someone contemplating a fishing trip, Minnesota has everything to satisfy the traveling angler. There are numerous fishing lodges and resorts throughout the state of Minnesota, where anglers can fish for walleye, smallmouth bass, largemouth bass, lake trout, northern pike, crappie, perch, and the ever elusive muskellunge.       The area surrounding the town of Ely is absolutely inundated with lakes teeming with a variety of fish that may include walleye, smallmouth bass, largemouth bass, lake trout, northern pike, crappie, or perch. There are fishing lodges and resorts on several of these lakes near Ely, which are in or near the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness, Quetico Provincial Park, and Superior National Forest. In this area, anglers have a choice of a fishing lodge or resort on Moose Lake, Farm Lake, Fall Lake, White Iron Lake, Garden Lake, Burntside Lake, and Big Lake, to name a few.       On the Canadian border, Lake of the Woods is a well known producer of record size muskie, as well as being a phenomenal location for walleye, smallmouth bass, lake trout, northern pike, and crappie fishing. Along the shores of Lake of the Woods, there are plenty of fishing lodges and resorts to accommodate the traveling angler. The fishing opportunities and access are just as fine on Rainy Lake, where visitors can expect excellent smallmouth bass, walleye, northern pike and crappie fishing.       There are plenty of fishing lodges and resorts on Leech Lake. Anglers come back to Leech Lake every year because of its excellent walleye, perch, bluegill, crappie, northern pike, largemouth bass, and muskie fishing.       There are countless other lakes throughout Minnesota with fishing lodges and resorts, and they all offer fabulous fishing.
