Frequently Asked Questions
The following is a list of some of the more common questions we get related
to the resort. Of course, there will be many not on the list so feel
free to contact us if there is something you can't find the answer to on
the website. In no particular order......
Where is Mylie's located?
We're at the end of HWY 621, just past Morson, Ontario. Click the
map link for reference to get an idea of
the location in relation to Northern Minnesota.
What is the difference between a cabin and a motel unit?
The only difference is that the motels aren't "stand alone" buildings.
Motel units 3A & 3B are side by side, just as 4A, 4B & 4C share
the same roof. All the cabins and motels are totally independent units.
The motels have front AND back entrances and generally more room for
parking your vehicles in back as well. The motels are located in the
central area of the resort and are close to the docks. Some people
enjoy the motels, some people like the cabins, others don't care as long
as they have a place to stay. We'll interchange the term cabin and
motel . Any questions about "cabins" can be applied to the motel units
as well. They all contain the same items.
What do the we get in the cabins with respect to bedding, appliances,
etc?
When you rent a cabin, all bedding and towels are included. Your
towels and garbage will be replaced daily as well. All cabins have
full kitchen equipped with a refrigerator and stove as well as cookware and
utensils.
Do the cabins have airconditioning?
No, but we did put in ceiling fans a few years ago. Every bedroom
and kitchen/living area of the cabins have a ceiling fan. People have
really praised the addition of the fans as it helps to cool things done a
bit when it's really hot. You might want to consider bringing a fan
from home though too, if the forecast calls for a it to be scorching during
your stay and you don't get along with the extreme heat.
Do the cabins have microwaves?
No. There are no microwaves, no TVs and no telephones
in the cabins.
How can someone get a message to me?
The office is more than happy to relay messages to any of our guests.
Just give your people our number (1-866-395-3449) and ask them to leave
a message for you to call them back. There is a payphone available
24 hours a day outside of the lodge. The payphone accepts majoy credit
cards, as well as collect calls or other calling cards.
Can I buy a calling card at the resort?
Yes. We were able to get some prepaid calling cards last summer
that will save you money on your calls home while you are in Canada. They
are in $5 and $10 demoninations. Your US prepaid cards will be drained
of minutes 3 or 4 times as fast when you make a call from Canada to the US.
Buying a card at the office would save you lots of minutes on your
cards at home.
Is there cell phone service in the area?
Not really. There are towers located in the Rainy River, Nestor
Falls and Baudette areas, but they are unreliable in Morson. Some people
can get a signal, others cannot. It seems analogue phones work better
than other types, but don't count in being able to use your cell phone when
you're in the area.
What is the price in US money?
It depends on the exchange rate, but basically, you divide the amount
in Canadian by the exchange rate plus 1. If it's 30%, divide by 1.30.
If it's 25%, divide by 1.25 and so on. The exchange rate will
vary during the season. We always give a fair exchange on US cash and
any credit card purchases are exchanged by your card company on the date
the transaction is processed.
