It's a pretty good trip when you come up camping for
3 nights and both you and your fishing partner get a muskie in the mid
forty inch range. Good work guys and thanks for sending the pictures.

The week of July 19-26 was a good one for trophy walleye fishing. These
two beauties were brought in July 16th and July 25th.

It's been a good start to our unofficial muskie week.
We have 8 units filled with muskie hunters from NE, WI, MN and IL.
Memebers of the SOB and First Wisconsin chapters of Muskies, Inc will
be fishing all week for those elusive 50 inchers. They have already
got a couple nice 40+ inch muskies and a 40 inch northern. Stay
tuned. Frank caught both his muskies within a mile and an hour of each
other. All 3 fish were caught July 27, 2003.

Also on July 27, Len Rubesch (First Wis Muskies Inc.) had what he called
"the day of a lifetime." Len boated 5 muskies by himself on Sunday.
The fish ranged from 37" to 47" so he didn't sacrice quality for quantity
either. His magic lure was simple a muskie jig with a big rubber type
twister tail that also has a trailer hook on a chain of beads. Much
to my suprise, Len wasn't doing any cart wheels around the resort after
his amazing day because, as he said, "Five fish can be a good summer for
me sometimes, I may not catch another fish all summer now." Spoken
like a true muskie fisherman. The last photo in the set is Len's boat
partner, Paul Michels (also First Wis Chapter.) Paul finally got tired
of netting all Len's fish and pulled in a nice 41" himself on July 30. It's
a good thing Len didn't knock it off with the net I think, after all the
good work Paul did on the net earlier in the week. Good job guys.
Two more days left to break 50" too.
Len's fish from July 27, in ascending order (not necessarily the order
he caughty them in, but with as much skill he displayed, I wouldn't be too
suprised if he started out smaller and finished with the big one. HAHAHAHA)
