with a big OB northern
29.5 x 17 1/4 inche Trophy
38 inches
Ok guys, ya'll gotta save some of those Obabikon Lake
fish for the rest of us, eh!?!?
Brett's walleye would be leading the way for the $50 Moore's
Lures gift certificate, but it wasn't released so it's not eligible.
Prigge Party Again on Oct 6, 2004. Duane, Wayne,

Filling out their crappies in OB
A battle scarred crappie.
Be sure to enlarge the Chris's crappie on the right.
Look closely and you can see big teeth marks of something that grabbed
onto the crappie on the way to the boat and hung on for quite awhile before
it decided to let it go again.
Could it be? Muskie Mania III?? It's
starting!!!
Mike Laird & Jordan Dahl (both of WIS)
43" northen (RELEASED!)
52"x25" muskie
These two beauties were part of 7 muskies and 10 northerns
(the other northens were from 34 to 38 inches) that Mike and Jordan boated
while trolling the Basil on Oct 8, 9, 10 and the morning of Oct 11. Mike's
northern came on Oct 8, while Jordan's big silver hawg was caught Oct 10.
They ran out of polaroid film or I would have photos of Mike's 41"
and 48" muskies from Oct 11 too. Hopefully, he'll email them or send
them through the mail ASAP. Excellent job, guys.
As promised, here are Mike's two muskies from Oct 11. The 41"
is on the left and the 48 is on the right. Thanks again, guys.
41 incher
48" fall fat one
Stay tuned. Randy B's boat has already boated 4
muskies (and 6 northerns) this fall and Rich Lehman's trolling trip is starting
Oct 13. I'm feeling their luck already!!
Here's a couple fish from the Beaulieu boat during the
Weekend of Oct 9, 10.
Angee Beaulieu
<== Julie ==>
46 inches - Oct 9/04 38.5"
northern- Oct 9 39.5" muskie-Oct 10/04
See what happens when you actually get out of bed and
get in the boat in the morning, Ang? Ang's friend Julie got the big
northern on Saturday and then made Ang get up AGAIN on Sunday morning after
a bit of a late night. Julie was rewarded with a nice muskie for her
trouble too. Way to go, girls! I just heard that both Ang and
Julie will be back again for the weekend of Oct 22, 23, 24 so the fish better
watch out. Save a couple for the rest of us though, if you would
please.
Weekend of Oct 15, 16, 17
Mike Brister (Bemidji, MN)
Aimee Beaulieu (Coon
Rapids, MN)

Mike's fat fall muskie was l;argest of the 9 fish boated
over the weekend (Fri-Sun morning) by him and his boat partner Ed Rauch
(both of the Bemidji/Cass Lake chapter of Muskies, Inc.) Other fish
sizes to follow.
Aimee's 41 and 40 inchers were the two fish in the 40 inch class she
pulled in while trolling with her dad (Randy B) over the weekend. Randy's
boat got 9 muskies fishing just Saturday and half of Sunday. The big
news is Ronda finally got another muskie after being skunked since the first
week of August after landing her 52 incher. Randy also got a 39 inch
northern out of the 7 northerns caught while trolling for muskies. The
Beaulieu's have two more trolling weekends to add to their already impressive
muskie numbers for the 2004 season. Randy and family have put over
70 muskies in the boat with about 4 more days of fishing to go. I'm
sure they'll be adding more pictures to the board.
Rich Lehman and Friends Annual October Muskie Outing
Jim Day with the big fish of the trip. 46 inches
of fat fall fish. Oct 18, 2004.
As most of you that follow the site know, I often add
a little commentary to accompany some of the photos, but for this fish,
I'll just let Rich's words do the job. He called this fish "Jaws"
and it sounds like it was an appropriate name. Rich was running his
boat while Jeff had another boat in the same area. Here's what happened:
"
Jeff's boat was being blown onto the
rocks as they were trying to get this fish. When they got it in
the net I jumped into their boat to help with the fish and get the boat
away from the rocks. This was the nastiest/meanest fish I've ever
seen. It even had that look in its eye. Its tail was even half
missing. Never once did it stay calm. We didn't want to hurt
the fish, so we made Jim cradle it for the picture. The release consisted
of the fish catupulting itself out of Jim's arms right into the water.
Quite an experience for the big fish of the trip."
I'm still waiting for the
final numbers, but I know they had a great last day. The two fish below
were also caught Oct 18, 2004.
"Captain" Rich Lehman
Brian Bagen
Brian & Rich
45 3/4" (only a 1/4 short, Rich!) 43 1/2 inches
long and thick. Same 43" fish, showing off the girth.
More pictures and information from their trip to follow. Including
a 44 inch muskie that looked as fat as it was long!
The Hawkes group had a good time catching fish even
though the crappie bite was a little slower than usual. Here is Brian
with a nice 36 inch northern and then Brian and Andrew with walleyes from
the same day.
Oct 22, 2004
36 inch northern
Walleyes from 22-26 feet

Weekend of Oct 23, 24
Julie (AGAIN!)
Roger

Oct 22/2004
Oct 23/2004
Randy B was at it again over the weekend. Total
numbers to follow, but Julie got another muskie and Roger landed a nice 42
inch muskie that had a 19.5" girth. Randy did manage to catch a fish
of his own this weekend. He got his 40th muskie of the year (all on
Lake of the Woods) and plans to be back one more time to find that elusive
50 incher.
Holy Crap. Look what Justin caught!!! I know, nobody will believe
me, but I was there and that's good enough for me!!!
47.5" x 24" - October 25, 2004. Even dock boys get lucky I guess!
Did I do good, Randy?
Randy B
The "Scruffy and Shaggy"
Fall Look Randy
B
45"x20" thick fall muskie
40" (3rd ever 40 inch class fish)
38.5" northern
October 27, 2004 was a good afternoon for fishing. The
morning wasn't good to Randy as he trolled solo while Justin got some work
done, but when the lucky charm got in the boat, things started to happen.
The 45 incher was the first to strike, with the 40 incher not long afterwards.
There was also a 33 inch muskie for Justin before Randy got the above
northern and one smaller (at about 32 inches.) This is just a taste
of how hot the fall action can be. If you want to catch big fish, October
is prime time!
Extra, Extra!! Stop the presses!! Randy B finally gets his long
awaited Lake of the Woods 50 incher. It took about 15 years, but the
dream finally came true. After helping wife Ronda put a 52 incher in
the boat in August, Randy B got this
50.5" x 22" fall muskie on October
31, 2004. Nothing like waiting til the last minute, eh Randy??
Now, I know he's not smiling, but trust me, he's happy!!
I wasn't in the boat this day, but I hear his heart pounding from shore!
Week of October 23-30
Another great week for muskie fishing. On top
of Randy B's big one and Justin's fatty, 3 other 50+ fish were caught by
our guests. Thanks for the pictures, everyone!
