August 2005 Fish Pictures; Mylie's Place Resort

Here are some photos from Augsut 2005.    Always a great muskie month.  Click the photo to enlarge the beasts!

We'll actually start the photos with July 30 at the beginning of the First Wis, Muskies Inc club outing.  These guys are some of the finest gentleman you'll ever want to meet.  Sharing information more than most muskie anglers I've met during my time at the resort. That was a big part of the reason I chose to join their chapter when I became a Muskies, Inc member last fall.   I was fortunate enough to be invite along for a day with Len Rubesch and Paul Michels so they could show me how they've been one of the most consistent pair of anglers to catch muskies the last couple years.  On Sunday, July 31, I tagged along and we saw 9 fish in the morning session and 7 more in the afternoon.  I got to see Len wrestle with a mid 50 inch fish that looked like an aligator in the water (it got away *sniff, sniff*) and also caught a 37 incher of my own.  It was a personal best for casting and also my first figure 8 fish so I was pretty excited.  At the end of the day, we had seen 16 fish, had 5 on, and boated 3.  Len landed a small fish around 30 inches and then an nice one that went 40 inches.  Paul's back was bothering him that day, so he didn't do any casthing or we might have had a few more in the boat and a lot more follows.    However, the work began on Saturday, July 30 so here's how the week went:

Well that isn't a bad first day I guess.  Always nice to add a new member to the Mylie's 50" Club.  Great fish, Dan.

Oh yeah, that's Randy B!  Haven't seen him around these parts for awhile, but after a slow start, he boat a great fish that went 47"x22" on a figure 8 the same day as the 3 fish above were caught.

All of the above muskies were caught and released during the annual First Wisconsin, Muskies, Inc club outing from July 30 - August 6, 2005.  Well done guys.           

Tom Harvey put another in the Mylie's 50 inch club for 2005.  That makes two years in a row with a 50+ muskie for Tom.  It may have been 3 years in a row if they had been using the big net in 2003!   Wife Lois had a monster muskie on a few days later and lost it after a couple jumps.  Tom then put a nice 39 inch Northern in the boat the following week.  Good angling, Harvey's!

All three of these fish may be below the 40 inch mark, but they're all nice thick healthy looking muskies.  

Webhost Bruce Homis (Long Island, NY)

Bruce landed his first ever muskie on his trip to Mylie's during the week of Aug 6-13.  It came in on 35 inches and hit a rapala crank bait in Burrow Bay.  Guide Larry Gibbens is pictured above with Bruce.  Congratulations!

The Heil's made another trip to LOW in 2005.  This time the week of August 6-13.  Joe, Sr and Joe, Jr as well as grandson Andy had a great time.  Andy even caught his very first musky!! Way to go, Andy.  Next year, it'll be a 50!  Um, Hey.  Joe, Sr, where are your fish?  Oh well, I guess a good guide lets the others catch all the fish!
