November 2005 Fish Pictures; Mylie's Place Resort

Here are some photos from November 2005.  The weather was warmer than normal so we tried to take advantage of it.  We managed to boat some nice fish and get a couple of rookies their first muskies.  Remember that photo pages are formatted for 800x600 displays.  Click thumbnails to enlarge pictures.

Not a bad way to start November.  These 3 fish were part of a 5 fish day on November 1, 2005.

Randy B pulled up stake and left the lake to head down to the woods for some deer hunting on the afternoon of November 4.  I was quite concerned that I might not get another fish after losing my guide and mentor, especially considering I had a buddy coming out to fish Saturday and part of Sunday morning (Nov 5, 6.)  Well, either I was apying attention or the fish were real hungry cause we managed to find a few more that Saturday and a little bit of the next morning.  It was very cool to see my good friend catch 5 muskies on his first real muskie fishing trip as well as a personal best northern.  I did manage a couple of baby fish, so dont think I let him catch them all.  Just the nice ones. HAHAHA  Way to go, Dan.  You da Man!

Dan's personal best northern and first ever muskie.

The second of these was caught within 5 mins of releasing the first one on opposite points of the same island.

Not bad for one day, huh?  Better than working on the fence and landscaping the yard, wouldn't you say?

                                                                               32" - Nov 6, 2005
We managed 4 fish in about 3 hours before Dan had to head for home. Dan's 39" was the biggest, but there was a problem with the picture so only his 32 incher will get to be posted.  I went out after he went home and managed 3 more muskies, but the biggest was 36.5 inches.  So it was a 5 fish day for me personally and 7 fish in the boat total.  Both were personal bests so I was kind of excited, even though there were not any real big ones.  They turned out to be my last muskies of the year, but you'll see below that I managed to find a couple more for another "Rookie."

Some of you may recognize this guy.  He's the one that comes around on the weekends to fix stuff and let me sleep in a few hours.  Yes, he's the big boss.  Fishing with my Dad was something we used to do every summer when I was growing up.  There may have been one summer until Dad and Mom took over the resort in 1992 that Dad and me didn't spend a great deal of time out fishing.  Since then, we may have gotten out in the boat to fish 4 or 5 times, if that.  So it was pretty cool to get Dad out there for a few hours on November 7 to try for some muskie.  He boated 3 fish and I think he had some fun. HAHAHA  The third of the day was a little 22 incher so we didn't bother with the camera on that little guy.

                                                                          Daryl's first two muskies ever.
