It just goes to show that all you need to do to have
a chance to catch a monster is have your bait in the water. Fall is
certainly prime time for muskie hunting. Stay tuned. We'll be
out there trolling for awhile yet!
We only got skunked for muskies one day this fall. We could only manage
3 northerns on Oct 25, but there was one decent one so we thought we better
take a picture of it. Turned out to be the only thing we could photograph
that day.

On October 26, 2005, Randy and I were lucky to
have Mark Johnson join us for a day of trolling. It turned out to
be a great day with some sun, warm temps and little wind. We were
able to put 6 fish in the boat (plus a couple little northerns.) Five
of them were 40 inches or better. Of course, the fish Mark caught
that was at least 40 and maybe a little bigger, slipped out of Randy's hand
after he had removed the hook and was going to bring it on to measure and
photograph, but we were able to sneak Mark into the background of a couple
pictures so he could prove he helped us catch a couple fish. Mark
and I both lost a fish that day as well so it could have easily been an
8 fish day. Here are the photos of the 40 inch class fish that Randy
didn't drop into the lake! HAHA
Dave Wilford and Mike Brister came up for the final weekend in October
to have a chance at getting one more big one out of Lake of the Woods and
their efforts paid off. Look at these two hawgs caught on the last
Saturday in October. I believe a bait called Mean Green was the key!
Very nicely done, guys. That's the last time I give out bait advice
though! HAHAHA
