Derek's fish was a nice 25 inch
walleye. He was proud to tell us that the fish was safely
released. Steve's fish was 26 inches and also released.
After hearing that Derek released his
fish, I was very impressed. It inspired me to create a
new category and prize for our catch and
release fishing contest. A $50 Moore's Lures
$50 gift certificate will now be awarded to
the largest walleye caught
and released by a youth (under 18 years old)
angler. Derek has the lead for this category and I would
love to see it stand up for him. Congrats on a great catch AND
release, Derek.
The Weaver Crew also had some excellent fishing this year. I
never get tired of hearing people say it's the best fishing they have
ever had. Here are some photos from their fishing. The
covered all the bases this year, with walleyes, perch, crappies,
northern and even an accidental muskie. Week of June 14, 2008.

Their catch included this big 28.5" walleye caught by Sarah
Weaver. Nice fish, Sarah.
The Hildebrant Party was also in camp
the week of June 14. Those guys can flat out catch
walleyes. I know they have multiple pictures of fish 25" and
above that were released. I will post them as soon as I get them
via email.
Here are just a couple of photos from the Hildebrant/Hagert week of
Fishing. Hopefully they will send some more of their
multiple 25"+ released walleyes.
