Mylie's offers both fishing and hunting. Seasons for fishing and hunting vary slightly from year to year so contact us via email or give us a call if you want some specific information. You can plan a father and son trip, a buddy trip or some time away with your spouse. Mylie's has everything you need for an enjoyable get away. Mylie's is also an ideal place to bring the whole FAMILY. From Grandpa and Grandma right down to toddlers, there is something for almost everyone to enjoy. Guys, you can tell your wives about the modern cabins that have all been recently remodeled (including new cupboards, futons, one piece fiberglass showers and even full bathtubs in some units) and places like Nestor Falls and Kenora that are a short drive away for seeing the sights and finding souvenirs. You can even make the resort the destination for your next family reunion. Here are some of the activities offered that don't require a rod and reel:
We currently have guests coming from as far as places like: California, New Mexico, Louisiana, Texas, Florida, New York, and Kentucky. Of course, there are people from most places in between as well. It is hard to beat the value of a Mylie's Place vacation, especially when your American dollars are worth more than the Canadian dollars our rates are charged in.
For the fisherman, there is walleye, muskie, northern, bass, crappie and lake trout all in one lake. From early spring northerns to summer walleyes to late fall crappie and muskie. No matter what time of year, you will be have access to some of the best sport fishing available anywhere from a great location that allows you to get out onto the lake in even the windiest weather. Guides can be arranged in advance, just let us know when you make your reservation if you would like a guide. NOTE: For first time guests, we recommend you hire a guide for a day or two to take you to some good fishing areas and get you acquainted with the vast amount of islands and square miles of water that Lake of the Woods contains. Unfortunately, we have not been able to guarantee fishing success as of yet, but that is why it is called fishing and not catching (as the saying goes.) Fall also brings hunting season. Hunters can go after ducks, deer, moose, and small game if they so desire.
We're always very busy from walleye opener until the middle of August. However, some of the best muskie and crappie fishing occurs in September and October and our goal is to fill out our fall dates as much as possible. Some of the biggest walleyes of the year are caught in the fall out of crappie holes as well. The only difference is it gets dark earlier and you need to dress a little warmer.
